Honestly when I first got into this conversation about bpqa women calling themselves lesbian, I was so naive.
Pressing a lesbian for her reasons, I thought I would get her to admit, even indirectly, that she didn’t want us calling ourselves lesbians so that she could be sure she would never date one of us by mistake. I know that “gold star” lesbians are a thing. I know that there’s a lot of mistrust on both sides at this point.
I did not fucking expect to be blamed for lesbian women getting raped.
ok, so I am a bisexual woman. So like, I understand were this is coming from. But there are a lot of things wrong with it.
like, for starters, you seem really convinced that no men think lesbians are actually bisexual. And I 100% agree with you on the idea that men think all women owe them a “chance”. But let’s also be clear that many men do, in fact, try to convince lesbians that they’re actually attracted to men. Many men do this by raping lesbians, and that is exactly what corrective rape is.
Which is to say, bpqa women can’t be correctively raped. Corrective rapists are known to tell lesbians to just try sex with a man, that they’ll actually like it. Corrective rapists are trying to force their victims to be attracted to men. Bisexual women are attracted to men, so we can’t be raped in an attempt to make us be attracted to men.
But anyways the point is that corrective rape = men raping lesbians to try to make them be attracted to men. So why are men so damn convinced that lesbians actually do want to have sex with men???? Well, bc they think their dick is the fucking center of the universe. But that belief is perpetrated by girls who repeatedly state that they are lesbians and then have sex with men. Do you not see how that can make men believe that that lesbians secretly want o have sex with men???
BTW, absolutely nobody is saying that bi women aren’t mistreated by society. They’re just discussing the oppression that lesbians face, and tbh if you have a problem with that, you probably hate lesbians just a little bit.
